Prof Josie TetleyProfessor

Josie has been a registered nurse for over 27 years. Over the course of her nursing career she has worked in practice and education, with a particular focus on older people. Prior to joining Manchester Metropolitan University Josie was a Senior Lecturer at The Open University in the Faculty of Health and Social Care where she worked on the development and delivery of a range of on-line distance learning modules. Over the last 18 years Josie has undertaken a wide range of participatory research with older people and family carers.

Research Interests

Using primarily participatory ways of working Josie's research has focused on active ageing, the use of new technologies in health and social care and lifelong learning. Josie's commitment to participatory working is evidenced through work which has included joint conference presentations and co-authored publications with project participants.
