Critique of managerialism and market ideology in health and education
Critique of opinion-management and Orwellian strategies in professional and public life and the promotion of philosophy as a method of training for professionals in 'intellectual and moral self-defence'
An investigation of meaning and value and the nature of integrity in professional and personal life;
Critical analysis of the epistemological foundations of the 'evidence-based medicine' movement, incorporating an investigation of the relationship between ethics and medical epistemology (questions of value and the nature of medical knowledge) and the ideological and commercial biases of EBM
Teaching philosophy and critical thinking in a range of contexts.
