Disability, Injury and Rehabilitation Research Group

Convenors: Abebaw Yohannes, Neil Fowler and Julie Marshall

This group of researchers are involved in a range of research projects about disability, injury and rehabilitation.

Projects on neuromuscular rehabilitation and musculoskeletal factors focus on the assessment of outcome measures and clinical interventions and long-term management, to develop the evidence base for clinical practice.

The speech, language and communication strand includes research investigating a number of aspects of developmental communication difficulties, including Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), family conceptualisations and experiences and speech, language and communication difficulties in both young children and teenagers.

These three areas of interest and expertise are reflected by the three strands of research carried out by members of this group (see below).
